Work Experience

Limited experience; most was consultancy.
However, lots of interim experience in the former job at Philips Medical Systems, of which the CV follows:
Nov. 1968 – May 1970 Military service, officer, TNO employed
May 1970 - June 1971 Predevelopment color TV tubes at Philips Components Division
July 1971 – Feb 1976 Development Color TV tubes, manager scientific computer group.
March 1976 - March 1978 Projectleader for the X-ray detector for the first CT scanner of Philips Medical Systems
April 1978 – Oct 1982 Manager Development department for X-ray Image Intensifiers We developed and successfully introduced the worlds first large size (36 cm) X-ray Image Intensifier.
Nov 1982 – March 1989 Director of the product group X-ray Image intensifiers. (Development, production, purchasing, quality).
In this period I moved the whole group from Eindhoven to Heerlen.
My group worked successfully on supplier relations, quality improvement and cost reduction
April 1989 – Dec 1990 Director of the product group Image Detection & Display of Philips Medical Systems Division of which X-ray Image Intensifiers was a part
Jan 1991 – Dec 1993 Philips Medical Systems was re-organized. My new role was Program Manager X-ray Image Intensifiers, which included marketing, Sales, logistics, HRM, finance and administration. Between 1985 and 1994
the group was transformed from a loss making activity into a profit making and very competitive operation. Cost reduction was 40% at constant output).
Jan 1994 – Dec 1996 Program Manager of the newly formed group Common Imaging Subsystems (CIS). Responsibilities for marketing, product portfolio and product development of X-ray Image Detection and digital image processing chains for Philips Medical Systems.
Additionally I was chairman of the research working group X-ray detection and I played a crucial role in the new solid state image plates.
Jan 1997 – Sept 1997 Manager of the Product Creation Program of PMS. A new definition of project leader was created and product architecture came high on the priority list.
Oct 1997 – Jan 2000 PMS Year 2000 manager for both Information Technology and the products worldwide. A large network had to be created. The newly acquired ATL group had to be integrated in the PMS systems in time.
10000 systems were repaired in the field. No problems occurred in January 2000.
Jan 2000 – Dec 2004 Philips Medical Systems worldwide Sustainability Director. In the last 2 years all kinds of Corporate Social Responsibility were added to the environmental activities. An important part of the function was the validation of all measurements of environmental, health and safety worldwide. Many initiatives were developed to integrate Sustainability in everyday business.

Physics degree at the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands
Many courses and training activities in my former job; most in the area of management, finances, logistics, IT etc.
