Work Experience

1. 12 years experience as interim manager. I am currently finishing a 2,5 year assignment at bpost (The Belgian Post). I executes several roles at bpost. My current position is the function of ICT Business Partner, a strategic bridge role between a couple of important business units and the ICT department. Before that, I delivered an assignment in a global company in the food sector, as Director for ICT Infrastructure, Support and Operations for Central and Eastern Europe. I was managing a team of 7 direct reports, for 9 countries. Main challenge was to improve the management and delivery of the outsourcing contract with 2 global ICT partners. Previously, I was during 5 years the CIO of a leading distribution and retail company in Belgium. Before this, I was the interim director of the Belgian affiliate of a major IT services company (450 people), managing the merger with another similar organisation. I also held the temporary position of ICT Director in an insurance company, managing a staff of 200. Another assignment was a crisis management task, saving a large package implementation project from disaster (company in the west of France).
2. 5 years experience as European IS Director at Levi Strauss & Co, responsible for the ICT infrastructure, support, service desk, vendor relationships, etc... for the European HQ, and for all affiliates and factories in Europe, Middle East and Africa. One of the main achievements was the re-engineering of the internal IT processes (using IBM\'s ITPM, an ITIL like methodology), to bring my organisation to CMM level 3 level of quality.
3. 12 years experience as IT Consultant at Hewlett Packard, of which the last 4 years were focused on IT Strategy and Architecture consulting for large multinationals (Fortune top 500 companies)
4. 9 years experience as analist programmer, and systems analist at Agfa-Gevaert, mainly focused on CIM level 2 production management applications, and on industrial process automation

Education

Bachelor degree in Information Technology

A large variety of seminars and courses on project management, leadership, finance, consulting methodologies, as well as numerous courses on IT leading edge technology

Skills

Excellent people management and coaching skills

Good communicator, both verbally and written, and this in at least 4 languages

Good analytical and conceptual thinking, which makes me a good IT strategist and architect

I have an excellent network withing the IT vendor and services industry, which has served me well during my various management assignments

Other

I am used to work in international environments (as well Western- and Eastern-Europe as the USA), and thus I have a lot of expertise in working with and managing multi-language and multi-cultural teams
