I set up a regional office in Bangkok to manage its interests in Asia. I organized the finance function and set up and improve management reporting for the Asian Region.

SHV Makro is a multinational cash & carry wholesaler which employes over 52.000 people in 21 countries. By the end of 1997 200 stores were open from Colombia to the Peoples Republic of China. Total sales exceed USD 25 billion.

Zwolsche Algemeene is a property casualty and life insurance company, also selling mortgages and managing investment funds. Since the early 1970’s it’s a fully owned subsidiary of ITT, a NYSE quoted company.
In 2000 Allianz buys the company.

During this period ITT starts the control self assessment process. We implemented one page audit reports and improvement agreements with audit clients during this period.

My department is heavily involved in major redesigns of all underwriting and claims systems.

1985 - 1989 Coordinating internal audit manager of the Dutch Central Bank (DNB)
During this period I documented the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control framework in relation with the audit of the annual report. Major focus areas were domestic and foreign investments as well as the banknote department.
