 Collaboration on an outsourcing project for a mobile phone company, defining the main lines of key processes improvement and management fundamentals in order to carry out the service level agreement.

 Full-time dedication throughout a seven-month period, assuming role and title of Director, with responsibility over the Finance & Economics, Administration, Purchases and I.T. Areas.
 Carried out a profound organizational and financial restructuring, also renewing the “how-to” of management, in order to stimulate the company and bring it up to date along the lines suggested for the sector by the EU, differentiating business units, as well as launching new, integrated Information Systems to support effective management and facilitate adaptation to the Euro.

Founding partner. Generated and Directed projects, being noteworthy:

• Design and creation of an economic model for prioritizing roll-out opportunities, considering the possibility of using different technologies per zone, for an important telecommunications operator

• Rethinking of the entire value chain for a cable operator and initiating “command action” to dynamize critical links, intervening directly as interface between CEO and different areas of responsibility. Result: 60% growth of installed client base in two months

• For an Italian investment group, elaborated the business strategy and launch positioning of a vertical portal in Internet, then drew up the business plan and “teaser” document for negotiation with venture capital funds in order to raise capital necessary for the start-up

• Developed the sales and distribution strategy for one of the most important cable operators in Spain, taking into account both their traditional distribution channel and new, alternative channels, which we identified, evaluated and proposed, and whose implementation was approved

• Defined positioning of a tourism portal in Internet. Drew up the business plan, designed the business model and identified organizational implications. The portal was ranked “i-Best” “top 5” amongst tourism portals on a worldwide scale. Profits are expected during first year of operations.

Manager (Sr.) Directed projects, being noteworthy:

• Global corporate strategy development (Cable operator): defined strategic positioning and key lines of action, achieving consensus of top tier of Management and the Board of Directors

• For an international investment bank deciding whether to take share in a pharmaceutical laboratory, undertook strategic and commercial due diligence, elaborating business plan and analyzing risks in order to value the investment

• For a Spanish cable operator, drew up the company’s business plan and designed management tools (balanced score card) as well as a financial model for valuing the company. Helped CEO to define key business levers and evaluate new business opportunities, finally establishing concrete action plans

• For a public entity, designed a model for and evaluated the splitting off of their telecommunications network and its establishment as an element independent from the Group. Evaluated different alternatives for the telecommunications network unit and their impact on the public group from a strategic and financial / economic point of view.

• For a Spanish global telecommunications operator, developed tender document and bid strategy for participating in a network privatization process, including economic valuation which would establish the bid price to offer

• For a European mobile-telephony equipment wholesaler: designed the growth strategy and action plan for short- and mid- term, objective being to attain optimum size in a pan-European market

Manager: Responsible for the Financial Institutions Division
Directed projects, being noteworthy:

• Evaluated and redefined the growth strategy of a Savings bank, with emphasis on new distribution channels. Identified the impact that the bank’s strategy – centered on opening new offices – had on the bank’s Solvency coefficient, fundamentally by designing and developing a financial model that identified financially viable growth rates, under different growth policies, contemplating the solvency coefficient that savings banks must maintain

• Entrusted by the owners, valued a public-works group of companies in the North of Spain as starting point in the search for new investors in order to develop ambitious growth plans

• Evaluated strategic fit between a retail bank and the Spanish insurance company it had recently acquired. Drew up a strategic convergence plan, in order to achieve the objective of constituting a financial group with a global service offering

• Designed one of the main Catalonian savings banks’ strategy and then identified changes to be made in the organizational structure, in the sales management system, and in the objectives and remuneration schemes

• Coaching at a leading bank’s annual managers’ convention, dynamizing various workshops with bank directors in order to identify new business opportunities (collaboration with the Barcelona-based business school IESE)

• For a Spanish savings bank, elaborated a system for diagnosing the line-formation situation at branch offices and identified specific recommendations for improvement as well as the system’s use for foreseeing line formation throughout the entire office network, thus assigning “traveling” personnel efficiently

• For one of the main Spanish savings banks, diagnosed competitive positioning in the SME and SOHO segments in different geographical areas of Spain and, together with relevant directors, designed an action plan for improving said positioning

• Evaluated the organizational structure of one of the main Spanish savings banks’ Area Direction’s Central Services, proposing changes in the functional organization and identifying profiles required for positions of responsibility

• For a Catalonian insurance company, developed the business concept for extending its distribution network through a franchising system, including associated business plan
