Work Experience

Christopher specialises in strategic and corporate planning, the management of performance and in the design and delivery of training programmes. A former Royal Navy Commander, he has extensive public sector training and planning experience including appointments in NATO and the Ministry of Defence. Since 1993, he has undertaken consultancy work for a wide variety of public and private organisations. He is also a trainer organising and running courses on a variety of subjects including benchmarking, service level agreements, team appraisals, project management and public sector procurement. He was recently appointed a Director of ActiveSkills.com, an Internet based management training company.
Recent (97-2001) clients include:
· A group of UK Investment Banks (benchmarking corporate services)
· Department of Health (facilitator for PSS-PAF workshops)
· Metropolitan Police Service (Safe Cities project)
· The World Bank (corporate planning for the Energy Regulatory Authority in Poland)
· The Sea Cadets Association (study into the organisation and management of the Sea Cadets Headquarters)
· The Wellcome Trust (organisation and management of FM Services)
· Siemens Business Services (design of Service Level Agreements)
· The Court Service (training in business planning),
· Limerick University, Ireland (training in service level agreements),
· Cabinet Office (design of a single index of performance for the Government Agencies (in Association with Michael Norman & Partners)),
· Department for Education and Employment (design and implementation of a Resource Planning and Monitoring System for the Analytical Services Branch),
· OFGAS (OFGEM) (audit of the Business Plan and Performance Reviewing System and design and production of a Guide to Procurement,
· BHB Community Health Care NHS Trust (design and implementation of a Team Appraisal System.

EARLY CAREER HISTORY
Christopher served in the Royal Navy from 1962 – 1993, retiring in the rank of Commander. A brief resume of his appointments is as follows:
1991 - 1993 MINISTRY OF DEFENCE: Head of the Planning Division for the Deputy Chief of Defence Staff (Commitments). Responsible for management plans and performance reports for the Deputy Chief of Defence Staff and for five overseas garrisons. Focal point for efficiency measures and the design of efficiency exercises. (PV Security Clearance).
1989 – 1991. FLAG OFFICER NAVAL AVIATION Head of the Royal Naval Air Traffic Control Branch including all training.
1962 - 1989 Operational and staff appointments with the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines and NATO.
