Hired as Development Manager and member of the Management team. Responsible for all development teams, purchasing, ICT and HR. Responsible to grow the organisation in order to reach a revenue of 12 500 000 Euro by the end of 2003 with a profit margin of 15%. In order to reach these targets, the non-profitable products have been run down and new activities have started. A new product, Miles, has been launched with the purpose to become world leader within the leasing market. New distribution channels have been put in place, an ASP service model has been established and most of the personel has been trained in the new technology.

(Development of a third generation telematics platform)

Asked by the CEO in January 1999 to take up the responsibility to manage the R&D organisation of this start-up company during 3 years. Responsible for project and resource management, the technical guidance of the people, recruitment and training, setting up of subsidized projects with the Belgian IWT and the European subsidizing organisations and setting up of multiple customer telematics projects. I’ve reorganised the R&D division into three separate divisions (Hardware division, Software division and Professional Services) and started the HR department, the internal ITC division and the purchase group.
I was promoted Operations Manager beginning 2000, responsible for all internal projects and processes, subsidized projects and major customer projects with activities in all divisions, assisting in the account management and suppliers contacts. Other parts of my responsibility lie in managing the internal ITC department, the Administration group and the logistics and purchase group. In two and a half year the company has grown to about 110 employees based in Leuven and in Boston USA, having 70 technical engineers in the global structured HW, SW and PS divisions. The revenue has increased to 5 million Euro in 2001. Today a lot of work is being put in the improvement of the productivity and process flow by introducing the PACE ( Product and Cycle time Excellence ) methodology and in the setting up of the Quality and Test department.

( Design, production and sales of ATM’s for the bank and financial institutions )

Started in the Business Development and Presales group within the Sales department and moving very fast via Project Manager ( responsible for the larger customer projects : Servitel, Cumulus II and Primo ) to Program Manager. Having this function I was responsible for the complete chain going from initial presales contacts to project definition, development, production, delivery and service. Besides the responsibility for these three project teams ( of 8 to 25 people each ) and the customer accounts during the projects, I managed the internal ITC department from end 1998 onwards.

( Production centre for consumer electronics ( televisions ))

After two years of research in Eindhoven, I’ve switched towards the product development of power supplies for the high end television market. Growing to become power supply specialist, I also builded the knowledge to become the picture tube specialist of Brugge. From 1995 onwards, I was appointed Technology Manager Displays and was responsible for the choice of technology, architecture and realisation of different development projects of picture tubes for all consumer electronics factories in Europe. I managed a group of 14 people located in 4 different facilities in Europe.
