Work Experience

1999 - today
Since 1999 I work as independent consultant and interim manager in the field of accounting, controlling finance, human resources, project management and general management and this in Asia and Australia. My main activities are the introduction and reorganization of accounting-, MIS-, and controlling systems. Further I act as Interim Finance-, Personnel- and General Manager. I also start-up, close-down and reorganize companies.
In the last 4 years I had successfully terminated two mandates.
The former one was with a newly formed internationally operating subsidiary in the field of internet of the Deutsche Bank with headquarters in Frankfurt. My task was to organize and lead the finance department (SAP supported) and to establish the first annual close based on US-GAAP, IAS and the German law.
The latter one, which I terminated in May 2004 was for a Siemens Group company (Siemens Building Technologies - SBT).
First (10 months): I was mandated as Interim Financial Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The main tasks were to lead and reorganize the accounting and logistics department, search for a permanent Financial Director, to introduce project controlling and POC accounting and reduce accounts receivable to an acceptable level.
Second (18 months): I was given the mandate of Interim Asia Pacific Controller with home base in Hong Kong. Here the main tasks were
-Strategic Program Monitoring / Strategic Financial Model for both the Asia / with
-Controlling for Contracting Business
-On the spot business and performance controlling (e.g. Hong Kong Branch, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, Taiwan, China)
-Implementation, training and review of progress of the company design Net Working Capital program
-On the spot training on project management and project controlling throughout China
-Organize training sessions for all divisions on the company designed Performance Tool and Controlling Guidelines and train the respective staff in the different countries.
-Phase out and close operation in the Philippines. Phase out operations of in Thailand.
Third (3 months): Mandate as Interim Integration Manager based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I managed the legal and organisational integration of the independently run SBT companies of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates into the Siemens country organisations.
Fourth: (8 months): Mandate as Integration Manager and partly interim General Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Continuation of the integration process in Saudi Arabia. This continuation involved not only management but also hands on work. Some of the major challenges were:
-the negotiations with the Saudi Sponsor, where I could successfully avoid further claims beyond the contractually agreed termination fees.
-The legal transfer of the employees
-The relocation of the offices
-Establishment and follow-up of the legal documents
-Provide clean balance sheet as of the official date of transfer
-Operational involvement
In addition to the integration tasks I was joint acting as General Manager for several months

1993 - 1999
6 years as finance director and member of the management staff with Givaudan-Roure SA, Vernier-Geneva, Switzerland, a subsidiary of Hoffmann-LaRoche. Starting 1998 I was given in addition the responsibility of finance director and member of the management staff of the subsidiary in Zürich, Switzerland.

1984 - 1993
10 years finance director and member of the management staff Europe with Robinson Nugent SA, Delémont, Switzerland, a medium sized, worldwide operating American company in the field of the connector industry. Beginning 1992 I was acting in addition as Managing Director for the subsidiary in Delémont/Jura, which was at the same time the European headquarter and the European manufacturing facility.

1978 - 1984
6 years various positions as finance director with American and European companies. (Texas Instruments, ENI Chemical, IMS)

1971 - 1978
7 years internal auditor in the USA and afterwards financial coordinator in Brussels, Belgium with Kraft Foods Inc, a large multinational company in the food industry.

1967 - 1971
Start-up of my professional career as auditor with two international renowned audit companies. (Whinney Murray und Arthur Andersen)

I see the purpose of my task to achieve quality and timely results for the customer. In doing that I have no hesitation the do hands on work. Through my work in different counties and cultures I have learned to adopt myself quickly in a new environment.
Through my recently completed Executive MBA studies I am familiar with the newest management methods and strategic knowledge.
I see my future in Asia, where I would like to offer my services to European companies in my capacity as a dynamic Interim Manager with profound knowledge of the different cultures in the Asian Arabic countries and the Far East.
