My main responsibility was to secure organic growth in the Netherlands through shop openings and strategic alliances. Since my appointment in April 1997 turnover has been raised from €50thsd. (one shop in Amsterdam and 4 employees) to €10.1mln in 2004 (shops in Amsterdam. Rotterdam, Groningen, Utrecht and Leiden with 50 full-time staff).

That year, turnover increased with only 10%, yet net profit before taxes was improved by 25%.

Aforementioned activities were meant as a jump start to ultimately be granted the exclusive sales rights for the United Kingdom.

As part of my International Management Degree, I was obliged to work overseas for a minimum of four months. I conducted a feasibility-study of a palm oil factory and had to analyse the socio-economic and political situation, in order to prepare a brief to encourage the Dutch Government to make a donation from their Overseas Development Budget. The study assisted the company in winning a contribution of €250.000 for the purchase of materials needed to safeguard the continuity of the factory.
