The restructuring program and office relocation were completed 2 months ahead of schedule.

Start-up B2B procurement web site for European water utility companies. Services include equipment/chemical procurement, auctions, capital project management and information gathering and sharing. The web-site uses the Ariba/Tradex platform and Oracle database.

6 Month contract to start-up the WaterDesk operation in Europe based around an already operating service in the USA. Responsible for product specification, development and marketing the website to buyers and suppliers. The first live UK procurement transaction using WaterDesk.com was successfully completed only 3 weeks after starting in the position

PEACHTREE, ATLANTA, GEORGIA, USA 1999 - 2000
Peachtree, acquired by Nortek Inc. in 1999, is a £86M build-to-order business producing over 3000 doors and window units per day including almost infinite number of sizes. These are produced using advanced, lean manufacturing techniques including JIT and the use of e-commerce with customers and suppliers, and are distributed throughout the USA and Canada.

Director – Supply Chain & Planning Group
Promoted by the Nortek management following the transfer of ownership from Caradon to Nortek.
Key responsibilities include: Strategic planning, forecasting, procurement, material management, inventory control, order entry, customer service, distribution and shipping. Direct profit responsibilities, leading a team of over 80 qualified engineers, schedulers and buyers.
· Successfully transitioned business operations from Caradon, Plc. to new owners Nortek, Inc.
· Improved on-time delivery from 65% to over 95%.
· Reduced lead-times form over 35 days to 21 days. (15 business days)
· Increased inventory turns from 6 to over 20.
· Reduced inventory of Raw & WIP by 86% generating over £3.5M cash.
· Implemented advanced sales and operations planning process based on new integrated software using e-commerce and B2B applications.
· Implemented Intranet and Internet applications dramatically improving communication of operations forecasts from customers to suppliers and throughout the company. Developed web enabled order entry and customer order tracking.

Caradon is a £2000M international group that includes many well-known UK brands, including: MK Electric, Mira Showers, Twyford & Doulton Bathrooms and Ideal Boilers. In addition it includes international companies in the printing and aluminium extrusion sectors. Caradon also owned major door and window companies in the USA, including Peachtree.

Promoted to a role working in the USA responsible for evaluating strategic plans to achieve major step change and managing major multi-layered, complex program to achieve business transformation – working at Board level across the Group.
· Program managed multiple projects simultaneously over an 18-month period. The £6M program was successfully completed within budget and 3 months ahead of schedule. The program returned Peachtree Doors & Windows to profit, consolidated its manufacturing operations on a single site, implemented advanced supply chain and manufacturing techniques, and positioned the company for sale. The program achieved annual savings of £4M and released cash totalling £4.5M

CARADON PLC, CARADON HEAD OFFICE, WEYBRIDGE, SURREY 1995 - 1998

Selected for this new position with responsibility for profit improvement and inventory reduction across all Caradon Group manufacturing operations.
· Evaluated and created 3 and 5 year strategic business plans for major Group Companies (MK Electric, Twyford / Doulton Bathrooms, Clark American). Strategies yielded annual savings of £6M with a capital investment of £2M.
· Increased Group inventory turnover by 20%.
· Negotiated the successful sale of several £ multi–million businesses and manufacturing operations.
· Founder of the Caradon Manufacturing Council. Implemented new policies and key performance measures for Group Operations.
