Senior manager process development,

In this function I was leading a team of process owners and process writers, with the responsibility to develop processes, to introduce them in all involved countries, and to audit these countries regularly.
Main objective of this function was to stay alert for new business developments and trends in order to be able to change the organisation quickly and thus hopefully avoid big reorganisations in the future.

1998-2000 SITA/Equant
Service Activation Manager

In this function I was leading the service delivery department who were responsible for connecting new customers of SITA/Equant in the Netherlands.
In order to be able to do this the team needed to order lines from KPN, order equipment, order system configurations, plan and co-ordinate centre and field engineers and monitor the actual installation. In addition they were responsible for spare and stock management.
In this position I was a member of the management team, had to meet with Customers, project directors, sales directors, V.P’s, KPN corporate account managers and Director and had to deal with all top-level escalations.

1996-1998 SITA/Equant
Assistant Technical Department.

In this position I continued to be leading the ordering team but was asked by the Managing director to move into the technical department to solve problems in the project department because this department was not performing too well.
I had to make sure their projects were delivered on time, within budget and with the expected quality.

1994-1996 SITA/Equant
Order and change manager.

Leading three departments namely ordering, configuration, and statistics.
The ordering team was operating within the Netherlands, the statistic department was mainly working on reports for internal departments and had to maintain and develop
the local database. The configuration team had to prepare configurations for over 250 systems for all European countries, the Middle East and some parts of Africa.
My specific task in this function, besides managing the staff, was to co-ordinate and plan all major system changes, migrations and implementations of new equipment’s into the SITA network.


1990-1994 SITA.
Assistant Network manager.

In this function I was leading a team of 24 persons, concentrating on one specific SITA service named “TYPE B” (kind of email) We were responsible for all users
connected to the HLS system in our region which covered all of Europe except Italy, the Middle EAST and some parts of Africa. Main achievement was the introduction of proactive working in all countries. In order to be able to “sell” this way of working I had to travel to most of the connected countries persuading countries managers to change the way they had operated their centres sofar from reactive to proactive.

1988-1990 SITA
Head Operations.

Managing 2 teams (30 people) working in shifts.
Responsible for shift occupancy, hiring and training new staff, system performance and user escalations to quality performance team.
During this period I introduced a special group which became later a dedicated helpdesk.
