1993-1995: offshore Company Tideway (daughter of Dredging International Antwerpen)

• Project engineer for design and commissioning of rock dumping vessel “Rollingstone” during the first six months.
Area of Responsibility: support in the design and building phase of rock dumping vessel ( e.g: calculation of strength and stiffness of different stuctures with simulation of sea flow characteristics.)
• Assistant superintendant at execution of offshore activities (mainly North Sea near Norway ,Scotland...) on board of vessel with total crew of +- 30 people)
Area of responsibility: leading the offshore operations ( 12 hr shifts 7d/7) during periods of 6 weeks with team of Captain, divers,ROV pilots,...

1995-2003: Philips Lighting NV (Turnhout)

• 1995-1997: Projectmanager reallocation project “ SOX” to Scotland (Hamilton)
Area of responsibility: projectmanagement of decommissioning, moving and knowledge transfer of production facilities and according process knowledge (750 m2 with 25 large installations ) to sister facility in Hamilton Scotland. The project was succesfully executed by multi-cultural team of +- 25 skilled persons (engineers,technicians, process engineers,engineering).
• 1997- 2000 :maintenance manager for lamp divison (HID) (+- 2000 employees and 6 production facilities).
Area of responsibility ( department of +- 115 people, 15 masters in applied science, 100 technicians, spare parts with nominal value of 6 million Euro,..): Define and implement maintenance strategy ( e.g : asset-management, preventative/predictive scheduling, spare parts policy,workflow management,training,factory engineering …).
• 2000-2003 : operations manager UHP of fast growing business unit (Unit of special lighting division).
Area of Responsibility ( production facility with Capex value expansion to +- 30 million Euro ( + 150%) and operator growth to 280 persons ( + 100%) : Leading of operations ( production,quality,logistics,) in a fast growing business unit for manufacturing high pressure discharge lamps in data projection market.. In this period interest and experience gained in domaines as change management, zero defect quality systems, investment projects, technical breakthrough projects using 6 sigma, continuous improvement processes using TPM principles. My team of direct reports consisted of 15 persons ( production managers, process engineers (green belts), black belts,logistic planners, quality engineers, industrial engineering,supervisors)

2003- 2006: Corus Aluminium NV

• 2003-2004: unitmanager finishing department
Area of responsability (production facility with 26 installations( value 300 million Euro) and 320 operators): leading operations in finishing processes of aluminium ( ennealing, leveling,cutting to plate/circles or coil,packing) with end responsibility in areas such as safety, productivity,quality,working capital,capex. Direct staff of 12 persons ( production managers, supervisors, production supports, process technology engineers, maintenance engineers).
• 2004- now :Operations manager new Calp and Automotive line
Area of responsibility ( strategic new production line ; investement value 55 million Euro): Leading transition phase from project to industrial operation in line with target efficiency and high quality standards of automotive customers. The past year mainly focus on increasing to 4 shift operation, implementation of quality control system, technical improvement projects and kick off of continuous improvement process using lean manufacturing principles.

2006-2006 : Convoi Belgium NV

• 2006: general manager ( managing director).
Area of responsibility: overall business responsibility.
Development of strategic business plan + translation into operational plans for sales,operations and administration. Head of management team consisting of sales manager, operations manager and administration/financial manager.
Budget responsibility of Belgian site ( 60 employees) within the European holding Convoi Europe (450 employees) which is specialised in industrial allocations of industrial installations worldwide and record management.
The staff consists of 5 account managers, 1 financial controller, 4 administrative employees, 2 projectmanagers and 10 site supervisors.
Yearly turnover: approx. 7,5 milj Euro.


2006 – 2008: Avery Dennison Turnhout
• plantmanager STD-Europe.
Area of responsibility: plant management ( production,safety,quality,supply chain,engineering,maintenance) of European production plant within STD (specialty tape divison) of USA based multinational Avery Dennison.
The plant consists of 290 blue collars and 90 white collars within different operations related departments.
Head of plant management team which includes 3 production managers,EHS manager,engineering manager,supply chain manager,QA/QS manager,maintenance manager).
Member of senior leadership team STD –E ( senior director) ,reporting to global operations director STD division.
Yearly turnover : approx 150 milj Euro.
The STD plant in Turnhout produces adhesive tapes and closures for different applications like diaper industry,automotive and medical applications.
