2002 – Date Project Manager – Procurement/Property development
Complete ownership of strategic procurement and delivery of all furniture, joinery and sundry fittings for British Airways worldwide executive airport lounges.

· Project managed the delivery of 1000+ seating for a £10m development at Heathrow airport. Analysed market, identified and appointed domestic as well as overseas furniture and joinery suppliers, delivering an overall saving of 27% on cost versus budget.
· As process champion introduced new procurement system to replace paper based procurement practice. Despite general reluctance, the system was implemented in a timely manner and has reduced time from requisition to placing order from average 2 weeks to 3-4 days


2001 – 2002 Area Cargo Manager Nordic Region (Scandinavia + Finland)
Responsible for sales and operational performance across 4 countries, 21 staff, annual revenue budget £9m, cost budget £2.2m. Developed and implemented business plan and strategy for region. Managed portfolio of key accounts as well as identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.

· Analysed the Nordic Market and designed a new organisation, streamlining the sales process whilst maintaining a strong presence in key markets, centralising the customer service function for the region. The new organisation provided a 50% headcount saving whilst revenue was maintained, despite the general business downturn in the airfreight market
· As part of the re-organisation introduced and implemented new sales process for sales executives/account managers, ensuring improved governance of sales calls, follow up and feed-back. This allowed for improved management information with a more transparent view of opportunities and issues requiring urgent action.


1999 – 2000 Freighter Manager
Managed fleet of leased cargo aircraft, ensuring commercial as well as operational viability of world-wide operations whilst protecting the commercial and operational integrity of flights. Analysed market, identified and selected freighter aircraft suppliers.



· Designed new reporting system in order to improve the management information relating to both commercial as well as operational performance. This required a thorough understanding of all aspects of the aircraft operations to identify the methods of capturing all relevant information.
· Project managed the largest freighter project for British Airways Cargo in terms of volume (700 metric tonnes) and cost (£1m). Influenced and negotiated with area VPs to introduce ‘creative’ re-routings of existing scheduled operations in order to achieve minimum cost, minimum disruption and maximum cargo uplift capacity and revenue.


1996 – 1999 Flight planner/Flight planning manager – Cargo Yield Management
Managing interface – team and process – between cargo commercial and operational, ensuring maximum revenue contribution on cargo flights whilst commercial priorities were maintained

· Designed and implemented automated booking acceptance and flight planning system replacing manual method. Worked closely with the IT development team, involved staff and communicated the plan to the business. The result was a headcount reduction from 27 flight planners to 12, whilst increasing the volume of work by 100%. Part of the project involved the development and implementation of improved business performance measures, all of which to this day form the backbone of the daily performance reporting up to B.A. Board level.
· Project managed the process re-engineering exercise to support the above system development in close co-operation with internal consultants, ensuring that future processes complied with the business strategy, and that all relevant business interfaces – systems as well as departments – were considered.

1995 – 1996 Load Controller / Aircraft Dispatcher
Responsible for producing calculations for correct loading and balance for aircraft, co-ordinating all activities whilst aircraft is on the ground, ensuring safe and secure on-time departures
