Formed and managed team to undertake £10m. project to replace legacy systems, conducted ITT process, supplier liaison, bid evaluation and selection.

Regained stability within 3 months, reorganised IT department, recruited new management team and staff. Renegotiated outsourced support contract and made saving of £400k. Initiated and played major role in Year 2000 programme. Refurbished computer suite, implemented project programme office, to bring 70+ development projects under control. Planned and organised migration to Windows NT.

Appointed Interim Managing Director with the remit to set up this data entry operation in Clydebank, which will employ 230 staff by early 1998, engaged in the creation and maintenance of an Internet-based job recruitment service covering all advertised job opportunities in the UK. Responsible for recruitment, training, negotiations for premises, equipment and all aspects of operational activities. Successfully completed initial phase of recruiting and training 40 staff, implementing application with all associated procedures.

Joined this major oil exploration and production company as Interim IT Services Manager for London office. Managed 35 staff, supporting Digital, Sun, IBM, SGI and Intergraph platforms, 400 PC users and wide range of commercial and technical applications. In 2 years, implemented major PC upgrade of all PCs to 486 & Pentium, roll out of Teamlinks electronic mail, increased server capacity by 100%, outsourced support & maintenance of all 100 printers & plotters. Managed annual budget >£5m.
