Director - Establish of a company from scratch, Merlon BV. In a real short time frame we did succeed to become a market player in the ICT sector and did put us on the short lists of several major (software) companies and major clients, both belonging to the top 500 companies. Due to a poisoning bacteria affection (streptococcus) on December 24, 1999 I was forced to resign my function. Although it was a very heavy attack I survied without any complications.

Close & Go - Non-ICT business related responsible for integrating the e-commerce activities, development of a marketing plan.

omNET.NET Training Services - ICT business related. Explore the market for training and consulting division. Project on hold due to the unexpected developments of the European ICT market. Establishment of the training consulting division has been put on hold due to the same recent market developments.

Contract Bases - Interim and change management done at several companies in the Netherlands and in the Northern part Germany (up to Berlin).
1995
Nashuatec (NRG Benelux BV) - Direct Sales Division, New Products and Services. Pre sales, sales and after sales, customer relation approach by using several techniques such as knocking, prospects, suspect, leading customers, multi level selling. Direct B2B selling. Managing and coaching of the sales people assigned to me. Training of the sales personal with the necessary technical knowledge. Consulting customers and doing project pre -sales inspections. Monitoring of the projects and managing the contractors.

1994
Datapower BV - Apple Center - Manager for a period of three months. Due to several internal problems caused by board of directors in the two tax years before the whole organization had to be changed and several jobs where to be postponed or had to disappeared. This was the only way to survive the whole company including the Holding itself. The reorganization as done finally turned out to be the only way to survive and enter the ‘Windows’ world.

1991-1994
Getronics - Sales engineer/Consultant. Cabling Systems and Network components. Installation and maintenance of (ICT) data communication networks and the components. Customer approach by door knocking, prospects, and suspect, leading customers, multi level selling, direct and B2B Selling. Also responsible for the technicians, engineers, installers and contractors who has been assigned to the project. Also responsible for the training of the assigned installers, technicians, engineers and contractors. Responsible for the whole track from selling, installing up to the final client installation acceptation tests.

Project based (self) employment
Senior Consultant - Trainer. When I did not have a ‘huge’ project or was in between jobs I did hired my self as a (freelance) consultant or trainer. In this period, I also sold hardware and software as well as networks or I did the purchase of hardware and software for a customer.

The period 1987-1992 can best seen as a period in which I have done several jobs parallel together. In this period, there is not one leading job. During this whole period, I did work with horses. I ‘broke’ them as the say it, (learning them that is not scary to have a human on the back), also did the purchases, the selling and did horseback riding if needed. Beside the horses I also did do some work in the ICT and did hired myself to companies such as Bol Compuser and NCS Computers as direct sales, support and consultancy.

1986 Telec Computers - My first job after my educational period. I started as a Service Technician. The responsibilities where service and maintenance, pre sales, sales en after sales.

Cheerio - During my educational period I worked at Cheerio Drankersupers BV. I was responsible for the cash, ordering of the shop supplies, sales and when necessary replace the shop manager. I did this during the vacations and the weekends

Drive-in discotheque - From 1979 until 1986, a few friends and I did own several ‘drive-in discotheques’. We went to schools, camping’s other dancing places.

Several newspapers and leaflets delivery jobs together with a few friends.

1999-now Founder of a community of interest residence organization (Belangen Vereniging Bewoners Hoorsnedijk te Haren)

1998-1999 Implementing the formula which we did tryout in Germany. This formula has been altered by the Dutch Arbeidsvoorziening and the European ESF. The altered version was applied to the European training initiatives called Netwatch I, II, and III. The goal of the Netwatch projects was to educate and training unemployed people and employees whose job was at risk. Due to the change in the formula it was a total differed project and where the results not comparable with the results in Germany.
1994-1997 Created and tested a formula to educate people who have been dropped out from the working process. After having passed the capability tests, we trained the people and prepared them for a job in the ICT sector. This took place in Germany.
In addition, we did a study about the possible problems and differences between the Northern German culture and the Dutch culture when people in general where exchanged from one country to the other.
1989-1992 Chairman of the Union of house owners in Assen the ‘vereniging van huiseigenaren van de Zwartwatersweg/Molenweg e.o. te Assen’. We represented the approximately 1200 house owners of the Zwartwatersweg/Molenweg and the district itself in Assen. The main goal was the maintenance, security, and interaction between the city government and the union.
1986-1996 Executive function at the Union party ‘Dienstenbond FNV regio Noord’. Principally focusing of the problems in the new fast growing sector the Information Communication Technology.
