Ineas is the only European on line insurance company.
Following a MBO, the CEO has asked me to relaunch the Dutch site. This involves identifying insurance companies with which to partner to quickly get products on the site.
This requires insurance knowledge, negotiating skills, market knowledge, and insight into the workings of online insurance functionality.

Have developed a new strategy for one of the leading assistance companies in the Netherlands, and am now helping with its implementation.
This required insight into the assistance and insurance markets, strategic thinking, planning, and leadership skills.

Interim
For the leading direct seller of travel insurance in the UK, developed an internet site for the sale of travel insurance policies in the Netherlands.

April 2001- September 2003, Mondial Assistance Group
Permanent position based in Paris.
Member of the Executive Committee and Senior VP.
Had line responsibility for the business units in Spain, Portugal and the 'rest of the world': the America's, Asia and Australia, North Africa. 15 subsidiaries in all.
Provided strategic direction to the group as well as the subsidiaries. Monitored performance. Lead three acquisitions.
Had functional responsibilities for the global co-ordination and development of the group's travel insurance activities, representing 50% (€500 million) of group sales.
Developed and implemented the group's E-commerce stategy for travel insurance.

Jan 2000- Apr 2001
Member of the Executive Committee.
Board responsibility for merging the Elvia and Mondial Assistance groups.
Responsible for 8 business units.
Responsible for travel insurance activities, as above.

1992- 1999
Managing Director, Elvia Travel Insurance, the Netherlands.
Managed to grow this company from a level of € 30 mln to € 70 mln, retaining profitability.
Won the industry award for best travel insurance provider 8 years running.
In 1994 set up a separate assistance company, focusing on travel and medical assistance.

Thomas Cook Bankers Nederland BV
Starting as General Manager, transformed operating losses into profits.
Was appointed Managing Director in 1983, and took on responsibility for operations in Belgium and Italy. In all expanded the number of sales outlets from 3 to 10.
In 1990 was appointed as MD for all the group's activities in the Netherlands; travel, banking, and travellers cheques.
