AMEC, Balfour Beaty, GTRM, Jarvis) to source and recruit experienced mechanical and civil engineers to retrain and become fully competent track engineers. Reporting to the HR Director, responsible for employee training and management development. Lead a team of trainers and had budgetary responsibility for £1.2m discretionary activity. Deputised for the HR Director during an extended period in which the position was vacant.

Was part of a new business sales team, targeting the North West. Co-ordinated pre-sales specialists, and third party suppliers to respond to major tender requests. Held a £1.25 m. budget, which was exceeded in the first year. This experience increased my project management skills, and my commercial focus.
Personnel Manager
Responsible for all operational personnel matters in the area, including recruitment, employee relations and compensation. Acted as an internal consultant on HR matters, such as the relocation of the logistics function into the region, and the integration of Systime employees into the organisation when it was taken over.
