Managed a multi-disciplinary team in a 24-hour shift environment, producing large plastic sectional water tanks and composite buoyancy risers and buoys for the offshore oil and gas industry.

1998 - 1999 General Manager - Venture Otto (Pty) Ltd. East London. South Africa
Reported to the Group Managing Director at Head Office for total operations and profitability of the site. Responsible for manufacturing, engineering, marketing/sales, finance, HR and logistics in a 24-hour shift, unionised environment. Managed and maintained QA policies and procedures. Liased with Customers and SQA (Supplier Quality Assurance). Significant Motor Industry (OEM) interface. Division produced, assembled, and painted plastic automotive components and other large injection moulded products.
Major customers; Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, General Motors, & Exports.

Total P&L and operations accountability to the Shareholders of this public company. Responsible for production, engineering, marketing/sales, finance, HR and logistics in a 24-hour shift, unionised environment. Managed and maintained Quality Assurance policies and procedures. Ensured adherence to Customer QA requirements Significant OEM interface. High profile role. Company moulded high volume engineering plastic and rubber products for the Automotive, Television and Radio, Sanitary and Domestic Appliance industries. Manufacture of own branded plastic goods and tooling using CAD/CAM together with 3D modelling and Stereolithography.

1989 - 1990 General Manager - Femtech (Pty) Ltd. East London. South Africa
Reported to the Group Managing Director in Johannesburg Head Office for the total operations and profitability of several sites. Led a multi-disciplinary team including Marketing and Sales. Company assembled electrical and automotive components and manufactured castings for lighting and white goods. Sales and distribution of own branded products

1985 - 1988 General Manager/Director - Silverton Eng. (Pty) Ltd. Pretoria. South Africa. (subsidiary of Imperial Metal Industries and Associated Engineering)
Accountable the Managing Director for the total operations and profitability of this automotive components facility. Responsible for manufacturing, engineering, sales, finance and logistics. Ensured adherence to QA requirements. Division produced metal automotive components including radiators, truck feel tanks, truck air brake tanks and air conditioning evaporators and condensers for Original Equipment Manufacturers.
