Duties: Responsible for establishing a business testing team (Six business, one technical) and taking them to India to TaTa Consultancy Services Offices in order to factory test the product prior to it being shipped to the UK to begin SIT / UAT. Subsequently responsible for initial confidence testing once new system was delivered and deployed into testing environments. Team of nine (six business, three technical). Developed strategy for next phase and provided Project plans, resource and budget estimates.

Duties: Responsible for presentations to steering committee, managing adoption of new processes and subsequent development, testing and implementation of new business processes in support of the new system implementation, plus the enhancement and testing of existing legacy systems throughout the development lifecycle and subsequent implementation to support new processes. Team of forty-seven staff (Both business and technical).

Duties: Employed as a Principal Consultant on several high profile sites for various projects:
Goldman Sachs
Provision and presentation of testing strategy. Managing the testing and delivery of an Internet development for the Global Equities division of the Goldman Sachs Investment Bank in New York, including the evaluation of suitable automated testing tools, presentation of conclusions, and the subsequent implementation of the selected tools (Mercury TestDirector, Winrunner and Loadrunner). Michael also developed and initiated several additional project opportunities within the Goldman Sachs organisation, which have subsequently evolved into revenue earning projects for TesCom US.
British Sky Broadcasting
This project was to implement Internet services for the mobile telephony community using the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), which involved web testing, coupled with the development of new testing techniques for the emerging WAP technology.
FORD Europe
Managing four E-business / commerce developments through the Life Cycle for Internet and New Media group within Ford and to manage their roll out to Europe with the minimal operational downtime.
QXL
Managed a testing team during this E-commerce auction web-site development.
Railtrack
Managing Y2K Testing, Incident Support Unit development and also responsible for end-to-end testing of transition period emergency business procedures and contingency planning. Conducted several internal and external audits of the Y2K testing programme and advised and presented on a data conversion task for the West Coast Mainline project.
Only TWO incidents were reported over the Y2K period, both of which were contained.

Duties: Responsible for the Legacy Systems closedown following conversion to SAP and for the Initiation, development, testing and implementation of the e-commerce marketing system.

A talented, senior IT manager with over 20 years of experience in applications development and Project management, Michael’s strong sense of delivery focus has been developed whilst working with many blue chip customers such as American Express, National Westminster Bank, IBM, Mercedes Benz, Ford, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase. His man management skills have also been enhanced by his experiences as an officer in the Territorial Army.

Michael has managed all areas of the Project Life Cycle, with a strong bias towards Data Conversion and Testing, predominantly within the financial sector. He has worked with a wide range of methodologies, including PRINCE2 and RAD and has sound experience of testing methods and data conversion, employing both manual and automated tools, in a variety of both traditional and e-business environments. As a manager, he has led groups of mixed ability that range from small, flexible teams aimed at achieving rapid results, to much larger teams of fifty plus people working on major change initiatives spanning several projects.
