as General Manager (350 fte)
• P&L responsible for the Dutch subsidiary of NN Europe (), a site with two production plants. One plant where sheet metal parts are produced for primarily bearings for the automotive industry and one plant where the rollers for these bearings are produced.
• Sales of € 65M, net margins of 8-10% in 2008. Due to the economic crisis 4 and 5 shifts were brought down to 3 shifts. Headcount reduced with 40 fte’s through attrition. By implementing a restructuring plan headcount was reduced down to 250 FTE.
• Changed the organization from a pure weight (kg) driven production to a customer oriented production focused around zero accident, zero incidents, zero customer complaints, 90+% delivery performance at lowest costs. Customer satisfaction improved as well as company results making use of lean, 6 en TPM.
o # lost time cases / 100 K worked hours from 3.3 (19) in ’07 down to 1.1 (4) in ’09.
o Customer complaints improved from 101 in ’07 to 49 in ’09.
o Delivery performance improved from 68% in ‘08 to 85% in ‘09.

2006-2008 AAR ACS, Hoofddorp ()

• Operational responsible for the repair, overhaul and modifications of around 20.000 different airplane parts.
• Leading purchasing, engineering, logistics, warehouse, IM systems, and avionics and shop.
• Introduced KPI’s en lean principles.
• Achieved a cost improvement as well as a major improvement of the turnaround time from 40 to 25 days.

2004-2006 Geesink Norba Groep, Emmeloord.

• P&L responsible for the production of Refuse Collection Vehicles for the European markets.
• Lean principles implemented for total site.
• Restructuring plan defined, agreed with the unions and works council and was implemented for getting the plant back making profit.
• Lost time cases reduced with 50% and average production cost price per unit reduced with 7%.

• Responsible for all manufacturing plants producing burners for the heating industry.
• Implementing lean manufacturing, and an outsourcing strategy.
• Started production in Brazil and China.
• Responsible for the integration of an acquired company.

• 1 mechanical plant (Germany), 3 chemical plants (England, France and Netherlands). Producer of lubricants for metal forging, metal casting and dispersions for electronic devices.
• Production from England moved to the plants in France and the Netherlands. The English plant was closed within time and budget without delivery problems.
• KPI’s and lean principles introduced as well as more focus on Safety, Environment and Health.
• Product portfolio rationalized and implemented SLA’s. Reengineered for Europe the customer service processes and introduced related KPI’s.
• Total cost of production improved with 10%, inventory reduced with 15% and performance delivery improved with 3%.

Site Manager Supplies Manufacturing Operations (350 fte)
• Responsible and accountable for two chemical plants in which polymers, toners, developers and photoreceptors are produced for copiers and printers with a yearly budget of $100 M.
• Implemented a new mission and vision, based on safety, environment, quality, and on time delivery all at minimum costs.
• 8% YOY productivity. Inventory improved 20% to an average of 8 turns. Reduced headcount by attrition to 300 without negative impacting the service to our customers.

1997-2001 Xerox, Madrid, Spain.
Site Director (60 fte)
• Responsible and accountable for the production of polymers and, toners for copiers and printers with a yearly budget of $ 15 M in 1997.
• In 1998 developed a strategy to support the mission and implemented it in 2000. Yearly budget for 2001 of $23 M, producing with 52 employees 4.4M lbs which reflects 95% of the 3 * 5 capacity. Due to this a plant in the USA was closed.

1994-1996 Xerox, Webster NY, USA.

• 9 month as Strategy Manager for worldwide OPC production. Liaise with Fuji Xerox.
• 9 month assisted with the development of a new toner for a new machine.
• 9 month Executive Assistant of the Vice President Supplies Development & Manufacturing Services of toners and photoreceptors for copiers and printers.

1988-1994 Xerox, Venray, Netherlands.
1991– 1994 OPC Plant manager.
• Responsible for the start up of a new build chemical production plant with a clean room class 100 for organic photoreceptors. Plant started producing end January 1992, the first products were qualified before summer shutdown including the blow molding of plastic flanges.
• Introduced a new organization structure within the Venray site.
• In 1994 the budget was $15M, using 85% of its capacity in 2*4 shifts with a yield of 90% en preparation for the implementation of a 3*5 shifts almost finished.

1990-1991 Assistant Operations manager.
• Daily production planning of the 3*5 shifts and started a new absenteeism reduction program.


1988-1990 Process Engineer.
• Developed and implemented, with the operators, improved toner and polymer production processes and equipment based on yield and throughput.
• Issued and implemented operator instruction manuals (written by the operators) and operator certification.
• Designed, installed, debugged and started up new toner production equipment at our sister plant in Spain.
