Work Experience

As of January 2003, I am an Interim Manager. The project I am actually finalising is the creation and implementation of a blueprint for the HR processes within the new established CEMA shared finance centre of Reuters in Amsterdam.

As of June 1998, the AT & T organisation becoming to small in Europe, I decided to join REUTERS, as Human Resources Manager Benelux. My responsibility was the implementation of the human resources strategy to support line management in moving the business forward. Within the Benelux, I took also the lead, from a HR perspective, in the important transformation process that Reuters started 2 years ago. The Benelux organisation, with 350 staff, has played the pilot role of many Reuters change programs. An important achievement was the integration of TIBCO consultants into the Reuters organisation and the de-integration of Radianz and Factiva staff towards the new started joint ventures.

In March 1995 I took up the challenge, in an international environment, as a Human Resources Manager, in a major project of the telecom gigant AT & T, to integrate into one company a telecom-operator, a computer company and telecom-hardware constructor. During 1,5 year, we integrated the Benelux organisations, and also the EMEA headquarters, of AT & T, NCR and Lucent (around 700 staff) into one company. The integration was successful, but the contradictions in the business strategies and the speed in the ICT environment, however, ended this project and resulted in the split of the company in three parts and a full year of de-integration activities followed. After the split I found a new challenge as the Country HR Leader Benelux for the NEW AT & T combined with the role of HR Business Partner of Consumer Services (the calling card business), a line of business in the region Europe, Middle East, Africa.

As of May 1993 until February 1995 I was Human Resources Manager of LEASE PLAN BELGIUM, the number one in Belgium in car leasing and fleet management. Lease Plan is a fully-owned subsidiary of the ABN/AMRO bank. It was my challenge to build an integrated Human Resources approach in favour of the 300 employees.

As of September 1989 until May 1993 I was Human Resources Manager for DATAPOINT BELGIUM. This Belgian subsidiary of the American Datapoint Corporation, who was employing about hundred employees, is a constructor of mini-computers.

Starting August 1985 until August 1989 I worked for SECUREX, a group specialised in social law, insurance¡¦s and human resources. After an intensive training of two years, I was responsible for the daily management of their subsidiary in Antwerp.

The second year of my career, I was a teacher of economic courses to secondary school students.


Education

I studied Latin-Sciences at the Saint-Joseph college in Turnhout.

At the University of Antwerp, Sint-Ignatius, I got my degree in Applied Economic Sciences, orientation ¡§International Business¡¨, in July 1984.
